Two teachers founded American Educational Associates, Inc. while teaching in the Plano Independent School District in Texas. Working in the classroom, they developed products to meet the needs of students. These specific products were designed to encourage intentional good first teaching. Teaching students daily, they found that materials for rapid acceleration were not available. Their goal was to produce needed products to facilitate learning. These products proved to be very effective and were produced for teachers, students and parents.

AEA's trainers have 50 years plus experience working with students. They are specially trained in Reading Recovery, Special Education, Dyslexia, and Early Childhood. These years of experience resulted in the development of innovative products and teaching techniques.
